It seems like forever since I last posted something on here... Probably because it has been, considering I've not posted anything since... July... Crazy, right? Well, let me catch you up on current affairs.
In October we performed The Diviner's, the play I told you that we had held auditions for right after Charlotte's Web. It went marvelously. I played the part of Ferris Layman, the father of the main character, a young autistic boy who is afraid of water. I was also the co-light designer for the show, and helped with the technical aspect in that way.
Not soon after, we held auditions for The Sound of Music, which we are performing in February, less than a month away. I was cast in the part of Captain von Trapp, a fact which I am ECSTATIC about!!
Hmm... What all else is there... Oh! We performed Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the beginning of December last year (scary that I can actually say that, huh?). It was AMAZING, though the process getting there wasn't so amazing. The director had put too much on his plate, and as such was highly unorganized, which caused the show to suffer. The producers of the show noticed this three weeks out of the show, and intervened, letting the director go and replacing him with someone who was much more experienced and organized. This new director was amazing, she knew exactly what to say and when and how to say it. The last few weeks were a fantastic experience, and then we hit the performances, and it was a euphoric experience, though most performances are.
I think that's really all I have to say. I can say that this week I am going to be attending Missouri State Thespian Conference with about thirty of my fellow thespians in my high school. I can't WAIT. I attended last year, and it was pehnominal, this year shouldn't be any different. I do plan on keeping this updated more frequently... Lord knows I don't want to post in seven months again. I'll post some more... personal stuff, as well.
